EQUATE launches media campaign for its Lighten Up initiative


Under "Lighten Up" slogan, EQUATE Petrochemical Company launched on Tuesday an anti-obesity media campaign for EQUATE’s Initiative for a Healthy Society.


"Lighten Up" initiative is part of  EQUATE’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program and it aims to create awareness concerning obesity’s risks, which include heart disease, hypertension and diabetes.
 
In cooperation with Kuwait Obesity Association, "Lighten Up" will visit schools to encourage youths and children to take necessary measures against obesity through effective and interesting means. The initiative also will interact with individuals, adults and youngsters, in public places to educate them about means to protect themselves and their loved ones, especially children, from obesity.
 
EQUATE’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program has already launched several initiatives in education, health, environmental causes, energy conservation and other fields throughout Kuwait. These activities include as a breast cancer awareness campaign “Keep Your Life Rosy,” a plastic awareness campaign "Plastic...Fantastic," as well as university scholarship programs for employees and other community members.
 
Through its CSR Program, EQUATE Petrochemical Company has earned His Highness the Amir Award for the Best Plant in Kuwait, the Award of Best Gulf Company in Recruiting Nationals, as well as Kuwait’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award in the Industrial and Oil Sector. In addition, it has received the Highly Commended Best Community Program Award during the First Middle East Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award Summit held in Dubai.
